Hello, I am new to Talk Parrots. I joined here because, right know I am saving up for my 1st parrot. I figured to join because, I wanted to help with as much reaserch as I could so that I am well prepaired for when I get my new babie. Right now I have 4 other birds they are smaller of course. I am planing on getting a Military Macaw when I have the money to do so. I do hope that with being apart of here that I would beable to do my research ahead of time. So that as I said before well Prepaired for my bird when the time comes.
I currently own 2 cockatiels and 2 parakeets so far. I do know that a macaw is a big step up but, I have always and I do mean ALWAYS wanted a parrot before my other two. I finally put my foot down this month so I am going to start saving up for my new bird and when I DO get the bird I will be posting pictures of him.
Well, my Tiels are sweet and kind, ok, not really kind but, they can be sweet and there are times where they are kind. My one male tiel pumpkin he's so far the only talkative tiel I have my female does not talk once in a while she chirps(she's the pain in the but) her names Ziva.
My Budgies are Sunshine(a green and yellow keet) and Snowflake(a white and blue one) They are still learning to trust me but when they are out and on me they are fine. I had my female (sunshine) out on me a bit she did shake for a bit since they are still not quite hand tame but, I am doing my best on trying with patience of course. When Country music is on Snowflake ends up singing along and trys to talk.
I do teach them words dont know if there picking them up.... I am doing my best on repeating the words when I say them I do say them twice so that it gets into there brain I do so each time. I try to spend time with my 4 of course with equal time.
They love lafeber producs any time I put them in they eat them up like candy.
Though, it is a good thing that I am saving up for my macaw.
Your babies sound wonderful! The bugs will talk eventually,my male and a female talk! And I have a female tiel that said very clearly only once, "pretty bird". She is a pretty bird and I guess she only needed to say it once!
It's rare when some females talk that I heard. I'm suspecting my new birds a male.
