Sue what a sweetie. He looks to be a Red Collared Lorikeet (currently classified as a sub species of the Rainbow but is under review) or a hybrid Rainbow/Red Collared as from the picture the nucial band at the back of the neck appears to have some red/orange in it. With a hybrid Red Collared/Rainbow you will always get some green particularly on the edges of the nucial band. Red Collars also tend to be slightly smaller than the Rainbow.

I am finding out about his parents... his father definately has some red around his neck... will let you know.. meanwhile he is only 2 or 3 days from flying... Apparently when he is older he will be a brilliant flyer.. Micky the Sun Conure has taught himself to helicopter down between decks (we live on a boat on the Gold Coast) as he free flies wherever he wants to go...

Definately a hybrid red collared/rainbow. Lovely bird. He is coming along well.
