New to Talk Parrot

I am new to this forum. I just needed to post today because my black headed caique died this morning. Gaby was so full of energy and extremely vocal....until yesterday. I called her vet this morning, but before I could get her there she died. She was only 12 years old. Gaby and Sebastian, my African Grey, were buddies, and were last together Saturday afternoon on their outside perch on the screen porch. Sebastian's cage is right next to Gaby's, so he watched her die. I am devastated, and do not know how to comfort a grieving Grey.

I am so sorry you lost Gaby! Do you have any idea what caused her death? It is so hard to lose a bird; takes time to get through the sadness. Give your African grey lots of love and attention.

Welcome to the forum and I'm very sorry you lost your BHC have you had a necropsy done? As you have another bird, I highly recommend it. Finding out the cause of death can save your other bird if needs be

As for helping him, I'd just give him as much comfort as needs be. I bet he's feeling lonely right now. You two should comfort each other

I'm so sorry. But I'm so glad you found this forum. The kind people here understand how you feel. Losing our beloved companions is never easy, but it's good to be able to share with others who truly understand what you're going thru. Soar with the angels, Gaby.

And God said, "...let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." And God saw that it was good.
