Talking New to the forum

Hi everyone, I just thought I would stay my time here by introducing me and my family. My name is Kristen, my hubby's name is Lonny, and we have 7/8 budgies and1/3 cat. We had 8 budgies until we last one this past April, and we had 3 cats but we lost one in 2011 and then the other a year later. I got my first budgie, and first bird, Pepper, for my birthday in March of 2013. 2 weeks later, we were quite pleasantly surprised to bring home Peatri. About a months or so later, we got Lily. After another month, we brought home Lyla. Then Lonny, on his way home from work, surprised me with Misty about a month and a half or so later. With numbers uneven, I sought out to find a male DEC, to no avail. I finally gave up that search, temporarily, and lovingly bought home Perry. I began watching a budgie at my local Petco, and watched him for 3 months before welcoming him into our family. With numbers once again uneven, I began keeping my eye out for that DEC again. Then, on December 15th, 2013, I found Holly. I only had her for about 3 months before her passing on April 7th, 2014. She was only about 6 months old.

Our cats are also a big part of our lives, and as such, we had 3...before the birds. In late summer of 2011, our grey and white cat, Mini, got sick, and by September 1st, we with heavy hearts, decided it was best for her to have her put to rest. The poor thing was riddled with cancer. Then in 2012, in late November, early December, our cat Quarty got sick, and passed a week or so before Christmas. She had kidney failure. Our only adopted cat, Jewel, remains, and thus far is a spoiled brat, and she knows and loves every bit of it. She is declawed, and is scared to death of her budgies.

Well, I think that's all for introductions for now. Can't wait to get started here!

-Kristen, Lonny, Jewel, and the flock.
