Green Cheek Conure added to the flock

Hey guys, So i've had my Sennie Gizmo for 7 months now, and what can I say... the flock is growing!! Have just come back from a breeder and put down my deposit on the most adorable little green cheek conure.
Any other GCC owners who can give advice on what these little ones like / don't like... what I can expect when introducing him / her to Gizmo... best way to introduce the two etc. Look forward to hearing from you and will post pics once the little one comes home!!

Congrats on the new addition, that's so exciting! I haven't had a GCC before so can't help much with that so I'll let others who have chime in.

Congrats! We love our gcc. Quarantine first, then put the cages near by. Only start introductions if neither bird displays agression towards the other when out of the cage alone. Pick neutral territory, like a room where neither of them usually hang out. Give them each some treats so they focus on something besides each other.

Congrats on the new baby! I'm not much help on the introductions. My 2 budgies and parrotlet run the other way when my GCC is out.

Be prepared for a beaky bird. She will bite /nibble everything for awhile. She will need a lot of foot toys to keep her busy. My GCC loves clear (please wash first) prescriptiom bottles with pony beads in them. Plastic buttons, cat balls, chop sticks, and clothes pins are also favorites toys. She likes to shred paper too, so I make origami boxes and put sunflower seeds in them.

My Lily is only 9 months old, so someone with an older bird will have to help with mature bird advice.
