Meet Zelda!

Hi there, crossing over from talk budgies as I was recently gifted a conure for my birthday! Her name is Zelda and she is the friendliest thing I have ever met.

Only problem I am finding is she likes to bite everything especially my nails and my lip piercing.

Hi Kelli,
to Talk Parrots!

Zelda is cute.
Of course she is curious of everything she doesn't know.
Perhaps by the time she'll learn to bite her own nails like my linnies do.
They havn't needed a nail clip for a long time.

Great Bird! Ahh fingernails are so much fun to chew I greatly decreased the chewing by simply curling my finger and "hiding" the nail when she attempted to chew. No other reaction from me and it stopped being fun. Although new polish on the nails HAS to be investigated.

Hello and welcome to the forum Best way to stop her chewing on your piercing is to keep her on your hands/arms and not your shoulders. Conures can be a real pain for nipping

In two days I've taught her to step up although she is still moody in the morning and at bedtime. I've also found that when I need to make dinner and need to put her in her cage, she nips because she doesn't want to go in her cage.

Coax her in using a bribe Honestly, it works! Give her something desirable in her food bowl perhaps? When she sees it she will go in on her own. You could do timed feedings instead of ad lib too, so when you have to make dinner you could put the food in her cage at that specific time daily and she will know that that is time for her dinner and she needs to go back
