Welcome!!Yes! I feel it is important to place a cover over the cage. Having said that,he transition from day to night should be as natural as possible, just as it occurs outside your home.A cover protects from drafts, cold weather and mosquitoes. Have a timer for your light in the room where the bird is located and lower the lights to emulate a sunset.... Simple as that- Rosey Bourkes are beautiful and there are many mutations now.

I had parakeets in the past and I fostered a Sun Conure for a couple years.
My question for today is about night terrors. I get that I can leave a night light on but, do you put a cover over the cage? I've always covered the cages, especially in cold weather when the heat is lowered at night.
I have read a lot but welcome any advice you can offer.
I will make your post into its own thread so you get more replies on it
