Kaela Joining the Disscussion

Hello, All! Glad to be part of the community, I am part of Parrot Life on Facebook, and am just looking to find some good solid information about parrot parenting.
I don't have a bird as of yet, but I am saving up my money, and making toys and perches with the spare change I want to have at least 600 put away before bringing a bird home, for the cost of the bird itself, the food, air purifier, and the initial veterinary visit soon after bringing home the parrot. My animals have always been a very important part of my life, and I am trying to learn as much as I can before bringing home such an intelligent and needy creature.
I was originally planning on a cockatiel, but after a recent trip to a petshop, I can't get this sweet little cinnamon Green Cheek Conure out of my head! She was dying for my attention, flipping on her back, chasing me, flipping her head upside down for scritches and waving her feet... I was instantly in love, and am still sad that I couldn't bring her home that day

Hello Kaela and Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you are making all the right plans for getting a parrot friend to add to your life. You've planned out the money needed for the 1st vet visit which is very important. A large appropriate size cage as well as a travel carrier should be on your list as well. You will be a good parrot owner as you are doing your homework ahead of time and planning out what you will need.

Good luck with your search to getting the bird of your dreams I look forward to the many pics and story's you will share with us all when you do bring home your new feathered friend.
