Hi,I am new to talk parrots. I have a GCC and have recently purchased another one. I am having trouble with the new bird. She is very aggressive, and though I have spent hours and hours trying to tame her I am getting nowhere. I have had to train untamed birds before so I know how much time and patience it requires. I haven't made any progress, and still cant get her to step up. She flattens herself and tears into me each time I try. The other night she actually went out of her way to lunge at my face as I stood next to her cage. I am afraid that letting her around my other gc when she is out of quarantine could be a disaster. I also don't want my little guy to pick up on her bad habits! Any suggestions? I am rapidly running out of bandages, lol.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Have you tried clicker and target training? It saves your hands and it can really help establish a mutual relationship based on respect. They come to you on cues but on their terms and they seem to do so well with that as opposed to just sticking your hand in front of them and saying step up

Is she completely hands off or is she somewhat tame? Like does she show an interest in you? How old is she? She could be hormonal!
