Smile Researching before deciding on which Parrot

Hello! I was a pet human to an African Grey years ago and miss having a feathered companion. But, before I decide on which type of parrot to locate, I'm doing research on what's best for me and my lifestyle. I want to be able to give my feathered friend a loving home and not want for anything. I really like cocktatoo's, but after doing some reading, I worry that my being gone at work during the day would be a problem. In the evenings when I'm home and on weekends, I'd have him/her out of their cage to be with me or on a play area. Also, I have a large high ceilinged home to allow for plenty of flying room! I'd like a parrot that is cuddly and playful that would (hopefully) allow other people to play with him/her on occasion. Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated! Also, as far as a cage when I'm at work, it will be a very large one place in the common area of the home by a window and full of toys to keep my buddy entertained. The bare-eyed Cockatoo, from what I've read, has a great loving personality. I'm still researching,so another type of parrot isn't ruled out, so advice and suggestions would be great! Thank you in advance!

Hi and welcome to Talk Parrots.

I think you have a good plan laid out with the idea of getting a "too" I would do some more research and find out how much time you would be able to leave this bird alone while at work daily. These birds are a big responsibility and they demand a full time parront to keep them happy and healthy.

Maybe check out the many youtube videos online of cockatoo pets and you might get an idea of what daily life would be like with this amazing bird.
