Hi and welcome to the forum.

Usually the hen and even the cock bird should continue to feed her chick even if she starts to mate and lay more eggs.

Is the cock bird helping her with the chick or chicks at all?

Hello and welcome!

You may find that by the time she lays that chick will start to wean, which shouldn't be too much of an issue. It is normal for birds to 'double clutch' ie. have one and then go straight to the next. I have found that most of my budgie pairs would do it and I would have fresh eggs being laid at the same time as chicks leaving the nest haha

Keep an eye on the chick. Are you able to hand raise it should she decide she no longer wants to raise it herself?
