Hello from Lindsay and Kermit

Hello!
Looking for a community to connect with in my new life as a pionus owner. I just adopted a 4 year old white-capped pionus, and am just starting the process of bonding with him. I'm not new to birds, but all other birds I've had were hand raised babies, and I didn't have to try very hard to bond with them. I've joined a couple parrot forums and am putting feelers out to find a good fit.
Cheers!

Hello and welcome to the forum! Pionus are interesting birds. Rather slow and deliberate in their movements, not overly loud and not massively hands on from my experience with them. I've always been interested in getting a dusky or bronze winged. Would love to see some photos!

Thank you! They are interesting birds for sure. They have a very unique look to them. I was first enchanted by the bronze wing as well, but (to my knowledge) there aren't any breeding pairs in my country, so I started looking into the more common white cap. Kermit and I are still getting to know each other and learning each other's body language. I'll post pictures with my posts as our relationship develops (or questions arise :P)
Cheers!

They're extremely hard to find where I am too... boo! Can't wait to see him. I'm in the same position with an orange winged Amazon. He HATES having his photo taken so I'm waiting until he'll let me
