New Mommy helper

Been trying to do research on conures for the last 6 weeks, trying to find more people I can relate too. My husband and I rescued 2 conures about 7 months ago, little did we know it was a male and female, as of Dec 1 Sammy laid 6 eggs, She now has 4 healthy babies growing fast, I feed Sammy and Sully and they are feeding the babies, I'm so amazed and how they interact as mommy and daddy. New to the whole idea of being a conure breeder but apparently its inevitable.

Closer to Sammie and Sully

I love Conures, my husband and I always wanted one and I ended up adopting them from a bad situation, before the babies Sully wouldnt get 6 inches close to me and Sammie has always been a sweetheart but stand off ish. Now we have all bonded so well, Sully got on my arm yesterday to eat out of my hands, he wil still occasionally go for a finger but I actually let him start to go for my finger and he ended up just tasting me. I'm so thankful for this experience I think this could be the best thing that happened for them.

That's wonderful, chicks are so much fun, I'm really hoping to add a pair of breeding conures to my flock soon as well.

>.< questions

I'm so new at this, parrots arent at all like "bluejays and mockingbirds" (Mommy and Daddy) aka Sammie and Sully would sleep on a blanket in their box, I didnt want to change the bedding once we noticed eggs and then babies... so I'm changing the bedding twice a day. baby #1 is 3 weeks old. Do I let them stay in the box? I know they need to get older, but do I intervine and put something on the bottom of the cage so they can start walking around. I already take them out for about 15 minutes a couple times a day and put them back before mommy gets mad... but I just dont want to mess this up. I would think once they are 5 weeks pu the nest box at the bottom of the cage and put a towel on the bottom of the cage so they can walk around. Someone please help!

Layla, the person who I bought both Dexter and Perry off breeds pearly conures and every now and then has hand raised babies. I almost bought one before Perry but I fell for him if you'd like to contact them then I can link you to them
