hello

Hi All
I thought I would join here too, coming from TB. We have one budgie and one Lovebird atm. I look forward to learning and getting to know you all.

This is Taffy. I believe she/he is 14 weeks old now. ( I know very little about lovebirds other than the basics and what the girl at the store told us) Taffy is hand raised and pretty tame tho I think my untamed budgie is teaching him/her bad habits.

This is Muffin man. YF type 1 Sky Blue Recessive Pied.. I learned that on the TB page lol. Not tamed but we are working on it.

Welcome to our forum, Dusty!
Your birds are very cute.
As i can see, Taffy is totally clipped.
Please take care that she doesn't fall down while playing or flapping.
In worst case she could break her chest bone.

Welcome to the forum! Your birds are beautiful

I don't know whether it is the angle of the photo or not, but the above poster is right. A badly clipped bird can only fall to the floor where it is at risk of breaking its keel bone so please be careful while she is out

I'm not sure what it means to be totally clipped, I just thought they were or weren't. Taffy was clipped by the women who raised her before we got her. She can fly very short distance but doesn't try to fly unless she is on the ground trying to get back to her cage. I kind of wonder if she knows how to fly for real. I wonder if she ever had fly time, I never asked the breeder.

Thanks for the warning, I will make sure she is always low to the ground while we are playing with her.

This actually happened to one of my budgies a few months ago so definitely something for people to watch for (she came to me like that).

Welcome to the forum look forward to having you around x
