Hello and a question

Hello, I am new here... I do not even know if I am doing this right... hopefully... I have a blue fronted amazon,, her name is lucy.. I am worried abuot her... it is not life threatning but she is chewing on one of heer feet.. it is not bleeding.... but she always does this since about 2 months ago when I took her to the vet for discolored feet. ( brown spots) he gave me a cream. and that cleared it up.. but now she always bothers the one foot..
What do I do?? I still have ointment from the vet and use it and that seems to help.. but she starts in again.... is there anyone out there that has an idea what I can do about this.... My bird is everything to me and would really appreciate some help.. at the moment I can't take her back to the vet he is very exspensive and I am low on funds....

Welcome! It sounds like she may be self mutilating or she could simply be preening her feet. What is her cage set up like? And her diet?

Welcome to our forum! Herzlich Willkommen!
Can you post a picture of the foot?
Or can you even take a short video with your mobile?

Lucy amazon parrot

I know there is no damage. but why is she doing it. not so much anymore. I was worried, because I hear so many horror stories about birds mutilating themselves... Lucy is just three and I have taken good care of her, I have had her 2 + years.. and overall she is healthy....can you give me some advice on how to keep her that way??? thanks this forum is great. I wait to hear from you.....

Kind Regards
Eva
