Baby Rainbow Lorikeet's First Cage!
I'm looking for any suggestions, recommendations, and tips for Nibbles's first cage. I have no experience in this, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have read that acrylic cages are probably best since their poopies go all over, but other than that, I have no clue what size, shape, etc. they should be?

I don't like acylic cages, personally. They scratch, get dirty easy, and there's minimal air flow. Best thing I've seen for Lori's to keep the mess down is to put a plastic mat on the floor and you can put a clear shower curtain on the wall behind him to protect the wall and some people even hang shower curtains on two sides of the cage (not on the cage but about 6 inches off) so you still have air flow, you can clean the plastic, and any poo that gets shot onto the plastic on the sides will run down onto the mat on the floor and it saves on some mess.

The bigger the better for the cage - you probably won't want more than 1/2" bar spacing; anything he can fit his head thru is too dangerous as he could hurt himself. A 30" wide cage will probably do the job, but Lorikeets are very active and hyper, so the biggest cage you can afford (within reason, of course) is best, supplemented with plenty of out of cage time
