I have 2 beautiful indian ringneck parrots(harley and smokey). We have been contemplating getting a third one but have had our suspicions. The ones we have now sometimes fight and we were wondering would getting a third one ruin it all?The cage is certainly large enough for 4 or 5 and there is alot of out of cage time. What should we do??????:confused::confused::p:shrug:

I'm not exactly sure on that one, Brianna. How often do your two fight? Is it serious fighting?

If the two are already fighting I highly suggest you don't add another to the same cage, and if they keep fighting I would separate them too

Yeah, I'd just go with that...I certainly don't thinking adding another one will make things better...

 4 or 5 ring necks in one cage?
To my understanding you had...

-1 room home
-No place for quarentine
-budgies cage was too small for the longest time till a few suggestions and things were brought to your attention after a few days/weeks along with the tiel cage.

I'd say leave the ring necks as they are and seperate them if they are fighting.

You would need a really big cage for housing 5 of them comfortably. If they fight, the two that you have, I'd seperate them. Stress is not healthy for birds. :)

Can you show us the cage Brianna?
Could they be fighting because they have nothing else to do in their cage??

Yeah, it would be great if you could post a picture of your birds and their cage.

Umm they dont fight that much.I cant get a pic of the cage because at the moment they are at my uncles house. The cage is full of different toys and perches they have toys outside of the cage. The door is aways open unless we need to go out. They bicker and go at it a little. Its not a serious bloodbath or anything its just dominance issues. We bought them when they were together. They are 5 monthes old(just to tell you). And the reason they are at my uncles house is because soon we are moving there and we figured it would be easier than to move the cage. The cage is meant for a pair of amazons or a [email protected] people could sit in it comfortably.Maybe not five ringnecks but theres def. space. As soon as I can get a pic I will let me see.....

I think all birds bicker now and then. As long as it's nothing serious.

I would still like to see your cage size, though. Are you sure it is big enough for three? The others don't seem convinced.

Yahh because with my other birds I had to purchase the cage but with the ringnecks my uncle was nice enough to as he loves them alot! The cage is made by hagen.I dont remember the exact name.I asked the man that sold it to us to send a pic as I dont have any.And abby yes they bicker.I know all do sometimes.:)The ringnecks are spoiled rotten!Huge cage, toys and perches, fresh foods everyday, out of cage time everyday. They have a nice home.

Good then. If that's all true, then it's your decision if you want to buy more. Just be wise about any decisions you make.

I still highly recommend separation if they continue to bicker, they may get worse, the last thing you want is an injured or even a dead bird!

It seems to me, Brianna, that you were worried about their fighting, but when we advised that you not get another one since they are fighting, you changed your story and said it isn't a big deal. If it wasn't a big deal, why did you mention it in the first place? If they are really fighting, you should not buy another one, you should do something about their fighting. That is just how I see it. You should always do what's best for your birds. I know it sounds exciting buying another bird, but if it is going to cause problems and make your birds unhappy, I'd suggest you put their happiness before your own.
