A name for my GCC Conure please

Hello everyone.

Well my new baby is home. I was able to get my cage today. The little critter already lets us rub his neck and lies in my hand on his back while holding on to the inside door of the cage. Of course, he climbs up on top of the cage and then bites me when I try to get him down. He`s ok as long as I don`t try to take him. He won`t step up yet so I`ll have to leave him in the cage for a bit until he can learn to not be afraid of the perch.

But now I don`t know if it`s a male or female and I need a name for my little Green Cheek Conure. Any ideas on a name that could go for both? There are no avian vets around here and I have to drive 90 minutes to get one and I can`t afford it right now. I`ll let him settle in while I try to gather up the cash to take him. So in the meantime, I need a name.

Give me all the names you can to help me decide.

Thank you....Also, if you have helpful links on GCC, I would definately appreciate them. I already have a couple from members and I have saved them. I`m trying to read all I can. Thank you again..

:eek:mg: Congrats on getting your baby! :biggrin5: You must be over the moon and so happy right now. It sounds like s/he's settling in well, don't worry, over time you'll get her/him to learn to step up, just take it really slowly.

I suck at names, but what about: Jesse, Jordan, Alexis (can be Alex if male), Isabella (Bella if female), Sammy, Loki, Berry, Kayla (Kay for male Kayla for female), Star, Storm, Nelly.

I can't find anymore good articles. I hope someone else will be able to for you though. Congrats again, they're the best birds and you'll love having one around!! :eek:hhappyday::woohoo:

Names are always hard. I like the name Sammi because it can go both ways, as with Alex and Jessie (which can become Jesse). Or you could name your new baby after their personality, and pick gender-neutral names.

Sorry I'm not much help.

What kind of names do you like? Pictures would help!!:photo:

How about Olive, Pickles, Orbit, Jupiter, Joker. Too hard without pics:)

Here is a site I go to sometimes. They focus on our conures so IT might be a helpful site for you?
Congratulations on your new baby! It might take a week or 2 to get him/ her to step up and let you hold him but the wait is worth it! I cannot wait to see pictures!
You could name him/her after food? I've always liked food related names!
Hi everyone and thank you for the links and names. I`ll get back to them as soon as possible.

My budgies names are Limonade and Ocean. I will try to chose a gender neutral name today so the little critter can have a name. hahaha I have to go out this morning but I`m looking forward to looking at all those wonderful links. Thank you again.

Marie.
Ooh tell us the nae you thought of whenever you get a chance
Congratulations on getting your new GCC. There is nothing more exciting than bringing a new bird home. I also enjoy picking out the new cage and toys for the new addition to the family.
Congrats on your new little guy.

I find with skittle my girlie she doesn't like to step up either, I have to pick her up.

We do need some pictures please!

Paco suggests these names Zoey, Xena, Michael, Maria, Buster, Guido.

Paco is my chattering lory I adopted him earlier this year from an elderly woman who had a huge home full of birds, dogs and cats she had to go into a nursing home.

Zoey, Maria, Buster and Quido are pets from his former household.

Michael is my son and Xena is my poodle.

Hello everyone. Well now this has to be the funniest bird I have ever seen. Barely here 24 hours and he`s already helping to put together the cage. And a very curious little guy also...As you can see, he would rather be on top of the cage showing off with his applies than inside where he can`t see the neighbourhood. hehehehehehe
Now can you imagine.....trying to help put the cage together, sitting on daddy`s shoulder and just nosying about. At one point he had a piece of apple in his beak and one in his foot but I missed that picture.

Another pic with him lying on his back in daddy`s lap to stay warm and get petted. Now isn`t this bird too much. hahahahahahahahahaha (Daddy for him is my companion). I don`t know which one is more hooked. haha

More pics of birdie and budgies. :) My two little budgies are Limonade and Ocean. Limonade seems to prefer that puny little bath. I ordered a bigger one but I tried other things and she doesn`t go in. hahaha go figure .

Marie...Still debating on a name for the parrot.

Haha great pictures!
Omg look at him, he's SOO precious! :lovehearts::lovehearts:

He has settled in really well by the looks of it, he's made himself at home, that's for sure. You'll have tons of fun with him. :biggrin5:
Hmmmmmm, you said it was curious so how about the name George from the book "Curious George". And I like George for a girl as well. But what do I know. I have a Sugar, Spice and Parsley... not very clever at all.
Congratulations! He sounds so sweet. Your budgies are adorable, too. :lovehearts:
Congrats on the new GCC!
He's certainly gorgeous.
And he looks like he's settling in REALLY well.
He is absolutely perfect! I am very happy for you. A curious conure is a healthy one for sure. How about the name Apple?
Oh, congrats on the new addition! He seems to be settling in so well!! What a cutie-pie! :lovehearts:

Good luck on finding a name! I'd make some suggestions, but the names I pick are rarely simple!
