PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. VERY SAD STORY!

Located in Edmonton, Alberta

Okay so here's the story. A lady called yesterday who shall remain annony. She called to ask if we can buy her cockatiels. Her very good friend had 4 cockatiels. 2 bonded pairs each. One male, female pair, and one pair of two males. The woman passed away and wanted to have the birds PUT DOWN  after she passed away. However, her friend said she can't in good concience have 4 perfectly healthy happy birds put down! So I am going to buy them off her and adopt them out. I will pay whatever the woman's family wants to buy them off them and then adopt them out to anyone who I am sure will be a good home. Since I have most confidence in you guys I am willing to adopt them to you first. So if anyone has room in their homes and their hearts for either of the following pairs please let me know.

Around 15 years old, male and female bonded pair. They have produced babies in the past.

Around 8 years old, male male bonded pair.

At least one of them is the rare, completely white cockatiel as far as I know. They are both fully flighted and were allowed a lot of time out of the cage to play and fly around. Not kept in the cage too much. They are semi-tame and once they know and trust you they will gladly fly onto your shoulder and lap when they wish to and also will sit on the sofa arm with you while you watch tv. This however, is only after they are able to trust you. They have always been with the same owner and are older so it will take some time to get them to trust you. Cage not provided as it will be my cage. Some food will be provided.

If interested please PM me with any questions and how much you are able to offer. I am not looking to get a lot - just basically recover some of the cost of the amount I am going to pay. Also, please let me know of the housing conditions you will be able to provide.

This needs to happen asap and I am going to be posting here as well as other forums I am involved in as well as kijiji and stuff. But hopefully someone with more experience will be able to take them in.

Hope someone can help!

That is a good thing you are doing to save and re-home the cockatiels. Good luck. I'm sure someone will take them in.
I tried to give you karma for taking them in, but it won't let me. I hope you find great homes for them! They sound like amazing birds!
I hope so too...I think I may have a potential home for them but not sure yet!
