Both of my conures will sit in their cages and be hanging on the bars and all of a sudden they flap their wings really hard. Why do they do that? This morning I was talking to Rocky and he makes this funny sounding little cluck and when I pet him he does it also, what is that?
Conures are ducky birds! That is just a very cool sound they make, aren't you copying them yet! And the flapping is, "I feel good and I want to flap and fly and woohoo!!!" Conures are never a dull moment. I hope you are enjoying yours?:biggrin5:
Libby does that flapping too, especially early in the morning, when she first wakes up. Kind of the way we stretch when we first wake up, plus I think it's a "boy I'm happy and excited to greet a new day!" type of thing. I'll come into Angelina's room where Libby's sleep cage is, and the sheet covering Libby's cage is all billowed out from her flapping! Quite a breeze!
Libby is such a character and such a wonderful bird! It seems she does something new every day!
