so as of late Russel has started to show some food aggression I think it began with the other birds because he realized he could bully them into letting him take the food. So lately hes started to get nippy with me when I try to stop him from eating things I have like if I have ice cream he gets really angry that I wont share with him. Now I didnt help the situation because Ive always let him eat off my plate, but he's given my quite a few hard nips lately I dont pull away but one today hurt like hell and drew some blood, so heres my plan so far.

ive tried hooding him, Ive tried unbalancing him, ive tried pushing back while hes biting, Ive tried blowing on him, Ive tried using no, Ive tried putting him in his cage, ive tried getting him to step up a couple times and giving him a dirty look. All of the above seem to just make him more frustrated so ?i feel im going about this in the wrong way.

So now im not letting him eat off my plate he gets a seperate one which he seems he only wants my plate lol, also when he gets to close into my space i pick him up and move him back and say no or i shake until hes flown away a bit and he seems to be getting the personal space thing, I dont actually mind the nipping but I want other people to give him food without him being pushy, hes in his teenager phaze so I know hes testing his boundries but I hope we can work through this and have him only take fiood when mommy says.

Ohh hes also been flying at peoples heads like only new peoples hes never met he doesnt bite them but its unsettling so I have to get him out more for socialization its hard during the winter what with the cold and me being a home body I dont like a lot of people in my house lol

Well just thought Id update besides this hes an angel and Im sure well work it out as long as I keep calm and consistant, I tried to take photos but the budgies are moulting so they were in a very sour mood

I'm sure you two will work through this. As you know he's going through that phase so it should pass as long as you stick to training. Good luck with him!

It sounds as if you have a good plan. It is always a bit frustrating at first to learn a new concept, but he seems to be getting the idea.
