Cooked and fully sprouted beans are fine to give. I also like to give them Red Palm Oil. My Macaw gets it daily, while the others get it on top of their birdie bread a few times a week.

you can make a special mac and cheese, use a high quality whole wheat pasta prepared as it says on the box or packet, shred soy cheese (parrots cant digest dairy) over the hot pasta. Once it has melted you can add dried fruit, chopped veggies, pellets, crumbled hard boiled egg or any other things your bird likes. Cut it into squares and serve, freeze some for the next day etc :biggrin5:

Hi junie... do you have a recipe for birdie bread? then just add some pellets to it... I use jiffy corn muffin mix and add 2 small jars of baby food veggies or fruit. 1 egg and if desired can add shell and all.. ( that is debated by some, I tend to not use it as I can't crush it fine enough. You can add some crushed oyster shell if desired, whatever fruits and veggies desired chopped or minced fine. Whatever seeds and nuts you would like to add and pellets if so desired... cook in greased cake pan or in paper lined muffin tins. I like to cook it till it is fairly dry inside, not real moist or gooey. My birds really enjoy it.
