Grey Digging....

1582 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Jenny
this has offically got my nerves goin... I cant figure out why our grey goes to the bottom of her cage and puts her nose down and just "peels out"...

I've heard this is normal, and they 'grow" out of it...but is there anything I could be doing to at least help speed up the "growing out" of this stage?

It gets to be very annoying, as soon as we close her door she shoots straight down there...

peel out?
do you mean like digging under the papers? my Chibi-Chibi does this ( i think its cute) im not sure what you could do for it tho , besides wait till he grows out of it
I don't know what you mean by peel out, but you could try giving her a foraging tray to dig in, to redirect it in a positive manner. Foraging tray: http://www.feathersandforage.co.uk/?p=86
I don't understand what peel out means either
Grey's just do that... We always called it the 'Bull Charge' Ours just stopped one day... In the wild, Greys dig a lot to forage - they eat a lot of roots and grubs, so it's something they tend to pick up on. I don't know what you could do to stop it though :frown: Perhaps put a towel over the grate so he can't do it?
