As some of you are finding your way over here to TalkParrots, we'd like to hear what you think about the forum so far.

We know there is some competition out there, so Dave and I our doing our best to ensure that we do everything just right to make it an enjoyable forum for you guys.

Please do not be hesitant to share any suggestions or ideas that you may have. We want to make this the best parrot forum on the 'net!

It may sound silly, but the first thing I noticed when posting is... I miss all my smilies! I keep typing in codes for ones we don't have lol. Otherwise I like it so far! I like that it's more simplified - makes quick browsing and posting easier!

One of the best things about this site is the size. Right now its perfect. I'm sure when it gets bigger u'll have to expand the forum a little with more parrot specific catagorys...but all good for now. I'm glad to be a part...were gonna make this baby huge!!

Not silly at all! Smilies are an important aspect of any community, and make it much more exciting and fun!

This is definitely on my to-do list. We are still in our very nascent stages, and there are plenty of things to be done still.

Thanks! I do like the simplicity in the beginning. And as you said, as time goes on the growth will dictate the need for expansion.

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone. Smilies will be added in due time. If there are any specific smilies you want to make sure get added to the list, just add them as an image.

The setting can be changed in your UserCP under Edit Options -> Default Thread Subscription Mode

To update threads to which you are already subscribed, go to: http://www.talkparrots.com/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription
... tick the check-box on the right side of the thread(s) that you would like to update, then scroll down and utilize the drop-down menu/box to update your subscription type.

Here, we use the "did you find this post helpful" alternative, which is below the buttons where "Thanks" usually appears.
