Hey everyone!
Just wanted to give a quick introduction. My name is Malori and I found this forum through the Linnie forum!
I'm a student at the University of Ottawa, just finishing up my second year.
I don't currently have any parrots, but I really look forward to the day when I can! I have my two rats right now, and as a student that's about all I can handle. Although I do also have a kitty, but she lives at home with the folks.
I love joining forums and learning from everyone's personal experiences about birds, and I devour every bit of information I can get my hands on!

I look forward to meeting you all!

I could for sure share about my ratties! I know some people aren't terribly fond of rodents, especially rats, so I don't like to bombard people with them.
But I can absolutely post somewhere about them- they are little darlings :)

I'd like to hear/see your ratties too :giggle: We have 2 at the house, my sister has 3, and her boyfriend has 2!

As promised, here are a few pictures of my rat boys. They are Dewy (black and white hoodie) and Dexter (himilayan). I do rescue/rehoming and as I'm sure we all know.. some rescues just never leave . They're not my first, and won't be my last. However, I have never had two rats so completely opposite in personality! Dewy is outgoing, affectionate, running and hopping everywhere. Life is a race to him, only slowing down long enough to be scritched and have a quick cuddle! Dexter, on the other hand, is a little more lazy and not quite as affectionate. He'll still give your hands kisses, but petting and holding is not a favourite activity. He's also a bit of a biter sometimes. he gets this look in his eyes like he's testing you- he'll slowly reach forward and take your sweater in his mouth to bite, all the while watching for your reaction.
They're funny boys, I'll give them that!

PS. my computer seems to be doing some funny things lately, so pictures to come!!

Can't wait to see them - the himalayans are gorgeous! half of our rats are unofficial rescues - adorable little hooded babies thrown in feeder bins. The male I couldn't keep because I'm allergic was rescued from a little boy who liked to swing him by his tail and bonk him in to walls when he was all of a month old, not really old enough to be away from mommy :(
