Meghan,

We LOVE the picture. I guess it is a signature picture or some such name. Obviously, I am illeterate regarding these computer things.

I say "we" because Roni is all over me trying to get to the picture. I would claim she is in love with Kayto, but, no, I know her well enough to know she probalby thinks it is HER picture. She is all about Roni. When all the other birds are saying, "Pretty bird" and "Pretty, pretty, pretty", I can always count on her to say, "Pretty Roni".

She is being a particular BRAT this morning. I say "particular" because she is ALWAYS some sort of brat. She can't comprehend that I might not want to concentrate fully on petting her. She is doing anything she can to try to force me to keep both hands engaged in that task, and the computer is her enemy. If I put her beside me near her treat dish, she tries dragging and or throwing the treats up onto the keyboard, as if I would let her eat there. She also attempts to sneak down there whenever possible, but I am on to her. I know she would break any part of it she could if given half a chance.

She is also really adept at "holding" my fingers. She can get one finger of one hand with one foot and a finger of the other hand with the other foot, and then she won't let go so they both have to stay and pet her. She is even capable of getting me "caught" in her feet and beak so that I can't get her off of me while she eats her treats! She is like the date with eight arms!

We do have some active members, but I wish we had more posts, too. I love the fact that this site is for all species of birds. I love hearing about species I do not have exerience with, and even more I like hearing about species I do have experience with but don't hear much about anyplace else, like the grass parakeets.

Alas, I have no influence on others, although I have suggested that folks from the Linnie Forum check out this one. A few have joined here.

I wish folks would post more information about the interesting things their birds do. I love reading stories about birds and their interactions with other birds, other animals, and people.

So I second Meghan's request.

Haha, ya...

Thanks to Kayto the right side of the spacebar doesn't work..... he's pulled it off just one too many times. I'm used to hitting the center or left side of the space bar, but when friends want use my computer they're all like 'Meghan, your space bar doesn't work properly!' ...... I should post random stories of Kayto and more pics now that i finally have a new camera.... :)

I will try and post some ads on CL an so on to get more ppl.

Hey there I am here! honestly all the forums I am on are kinda dead right now. Seems life takes charge and we all get lost in the real world!
Our flock has grown to 16. We got another cockatiel. A white face, very pretty. No pics yet though too lazy.
We also added a Black Cap Conure to replace Cayenne, who bit one too many times.
They keep me busy cleaning and preening and making toys. We have 10 cages now. The conures just have to have their own cage!
We have 6 budgies and have one bonded pair. It looked like they wanted a nest box so we got one. They played with the idea for a few weeks. We took it out and they are just fine with that.
Our one legged budgies is the best flier of the bunch and the only one we let out. She goes back in when its time. All the others will not and we waste time toweling them. They refuse to follow the program.
Our Bourke is a natural nurse bird. she helped Hopalong find her cage when we moved it. She showed the new tiel named Charlie where to climb to get back in. She is not interested in being handled at all. She has allowed it twice. She goes in her cage when the evening is over, we direct her in like air traffic! In she will go. Smart girl.
I am currently in love with a Dusky at the shop. Just don't have 800 bucks.:(

I cannot imagine cleaning up after 16 birds. I have three and poop and soft feathers :lovehearts:rolling around all over. Luckily the poop is confined to mostly the kitchen. I think I'm too 'fussy'.

Was Cayenne your senegal? I didn't realize you had rehomed him. Did I miss some posts? Maybe I am thinking of the wrong bird.

Yes Cayenne was my buddy for 4 weeks. He ended hating us all and biting viciously. I still have the scar 3 months later. I took him back and first thing the owner says is, " oh Cayenne what have you done now?" She took him and I got My New Black Cap Conure, who is currently biting! Cayenne went to a couple she knows that had a female. He was happy and wooed the lady so on her shoulder he is and bites her ear. She was warned he was having trouble. I miss him but no thanks. I am not that kind of bird lover. My birds cannot be hurtful, he was.
Tuco is a nice little bcc. He is tame except for the recent biting. He is in his own cage now and having an attitude explosion. He went to bed 2 hours early tonight after he invited handling then bit.
Yep its a lot of cages to clean. It can take 5 hours to do it all if I watch too much t.v. while working.

I am sorry to hear that Cayenne was so unpredictable. I certainly understand limiting your flock to birds that are not hurtful. I hope the black cap is just going through a stage.
