The 1st aviary I am getting was given to my friend from someone that she knows who lives just around the corner, but my friend has too many aviaries as it is in her backyard, so she said if I can find a way to pick it up, I can have it for free. :woohoo: My friends place is only about 15-20 mins away, not far at all. The aviary is 1.6 x 1.6 metres and approx. 1.7 metres high.

I thought that was a bonus until she messaged me asking me about ANOTHER aviary.. :eek:mg::rofl:

The 2nd aviary I am getting is a suspended aviary, which I am buying from her (my friend), it is pretty big, I have seen it, and she is selling it to me pretty cheap (she paid $100 for it and it is only a few months old). She said at first to make an offer, but I didn’t know how much to offer, so she just gave me a price and I said yes. She said I could pick it up at the same time as I pick up the 1st aviary.

She messaged me again saying she is going to include a breeding pair of Cockatiels in with the suspended aviary too!! :D The female is a pearl pied, and the male is mostly cream with some pale yellow patches on him. So they will be my 2 new additions, and they will be going into the suspended aviary. (they are currently in an aviary together)

I asked my mum’s boyfriend if he would help me out to go and pick up 2 aviaries and a pair of Cockatiels (I don't drive) this weekend, and he said YES! We are hiring a ute, and my mum’s boyfriend is going to drive it there and back and I will pay for the hire and etc.

This morning my mum rang up and organized everything — my mum’s boyfriend and I are picking the ute up at 10:00am on Saturday, this weekend! :driving:Once we have picked the ute up, at about 10:30am we are going to go and pick up the 2 aviaries and the pair of Cockatiels. :)

It is going to be a long and busy day, but I can't wait. :giggle:I will post photos once the aviaries are up and the 2 new additions are settled into their suspended aviary. I don’t know who is going to be going in the 1st aviary yet.

Is it difficult to do what you need to do when you don't drive there? I don't know a thing about New South Wales.

Congratulations on your new aviaries and birds.

Thanks everyone, I am absolutely thrilled!

Nanay, it certainly is, you have to rely on public transport, or others like in my case, to get to places. Even relying on public transport is bad, because the public transport is bad its self! (always late, delays, etc) I have to get my butt into gear and go for my L’s, I said this year would be the year I would get them, so I must do it, and then I won’t have to worry about relying on others and transport to get to places. If you live in a more isolated area, it is WORSE, where I used to live, there was only buses every so often and it was way out away from shopping centers and such, and it was murder. I don’t live far from town where there is a shopping center, clubs, and other shops, but it is getting to other places such as where the aviaries are which becomes the problem. I have had to always ask when I get a bird, if they can drop it off for me, and I hate doing that, and not everyone does that, and if I would go and get my L’s I wouldn’t need to, hence why I plan to get them, so I no longer would need to do that! :p Another thing is buying cages, I have to get them online and have them delivered, there isn’t many online.
