Hi I'm Iris and I'm 19 almost 20. And I'm planning on getting a pionus parrot(don't know which one yet) towards the end of this summer. I've had a cockatiel and two budgies in the past. I've got two lizards currently and looking at adding a third one soon after my old lizard dies. I'm currently working at an exotic pet store. I also work at a packaging factory for like two hours and I work at the pet store for like four hours. Someone will always be at the house either me or my boyfriend or sage our friend so that the pionus won't be lonely. We're also going to get a pigeon. And I was wondering if it would be safe for the pionus and the pigeon to be playmates or if that's a big no. My bearded dragon also eats most of the bird safe veggies he eats things like collards greens and squash etc so veggies for the bird won't be a problem. And I'm looking at getting roundybush pellets for it and also giving it nuts And seeds as treats

I have just budgies. I know that in USA the pellets are very popular, but I would try to give limited nuts maybe, senegal seeds, if he eats, grass seeds, veggies, fruits except avocado. I think mainly those pellets produced at heat temperatures can burden the kidneys.

Okay thanks
I would give you an example. In the USA millet sprays are recommended like threats only. I do not understand that. They should be given daily. They are not harmful. But are not so commercial, like pellets are.

Should I feed the parrot other things than pellets perhaps like natural grains and stuff Im going to be feeding the parrot fruits and veggies and collard greens
