Many parrot owners have parrots that aren't necessarily the tamest things on the planet. If you do, then how do you handle your parrot when transporting it, taking it in and out of the cage, etc.? What are some of the struggles of caring for your un-tame and perhaps feisty parrot(s)?

My budgie, Bentley started off very calm, but now he's comfortable in my home he sorta went downhill. I work on the taming process every day, although it's very tricky as he's an adult budgie. His wings are clipped, partly because he can't fly properly and it's safer for him, and because it makes taming much better for me.

He's getting a lot calmer now, and it shouldn't be long before he's nice and tame.

my budgies aren't tame, and millet is an awesome bribe :p works for anything I want them to do! :) right now I have no need to tame them, they're both jump on my hand for millet when they want and they're happy with each other. :)

and my senegal went through a little stage where she wouldn't step up so again food bribes and target training to get to her cooperate. b silly birdut now she's back to stepping up lol silly bird :p

Good question! Whenever I need to take my Grey out for a vet visit, I leave his cage door open all morning so that he comes out on his own. He hates his carrier, so I always have to catch him with a towel to put him in there. My budgie is much more amenable to going in her traveler. She doesn't like going in, but once she's in there she is happy as can be - probably because I put so much millet in there! My grey just sits and shivers for the whole ride. He's too nervous to eat any treats I put in there.
