So, Meeko seems to always try and steal my food from me. I was sitting on my bed the other day eating some chips and had the cage open. Like always he came flying over to hang out. He was on my laptop stand next to my bed messing with the mouse and keyboard and noticed I was eating something and hopped on the bed to see. He proceeded to try and eat some chips along with me. I kept picking him up and putting him by my laptop, but he just kept coming back. I didn't have many left when he noticed them so they were gone pretty fast. He seemed mad when they were gone. He kept running around the bed and hitting me with his beak and trying to eat my mouse. Then yesterday he tried to jump in a bowl a fruit I had. Luckily he jumped on the rim of the bowl and not into it. He was a little too late for that too because I didn't have much left. I guess I could of shared some fruit with him. :giggle: Another day he was out with my mom and I guess he wanted to take a bath in her drink. He went and leaped into the cup but couldn't fit all the way in it. Good think he wouldn't reach the drink because she was drinking a bloody mary. That could of been messy. Just thought I would share some little stories about Meeko.

 Too funny! I don't know what it is with birds and chips, they all seem so interested in them. You can use their greed against them and trick them into eating healthy things they otherwise refuse... it's the only way some of my guys will eat their fruit and veg

The trick is to act like you don't want to share at first. They hate to be denied lol It may take a few tries to get them to actually eat it instead of grab it and drop or toss it. :) Good luck!

:giggle: Goober is the same way! If I'm eating she'll beg and beg or flat out take it out of my mouth! Definitely helps to teach them to try new things!

I have 16 birds, and the only ones who will eat fruit are the conures. I buy organic baby food, the veggies mixes, and use this instead of milk when making corn bread muffins. I also add pellets and some bird seed mix they did not like. All the birds gobble it up. Veggies in, hassles out. I love that they eat well and don't know it!

Stew tries to take food from my mouth too. I have to be careful what i eat when he's out lol
During winter months, and when the local organic produce looks sad we use organic baby foods as well. Great idea to use it in birdy baked goods. I'm so trying it out this weekend.
