Cannary's birds, the bourkes and the maximillian, can come out of their cages together. She can play with both or either. They will be nice to one another. She can hold them at the same time, or put them near her while she plays with other things, and they are just fine. She can also put one on one of our play areas while she plays with the other and trade them around.

I USED to be able to do that with Roni, senegal, Shira, green cheek, and Elisa, linnie. No more. They have all three decided that they can't be the one on a playstand while I am holding one of the others. None of them will play contentedly on any of the playstands. They just keep trying to get to me, even Elisa, who doesn't even LIKE to be petted. She does want to sit on my shoulder or near me, though, and that is all she wants to do when she is out of the cage now.

I used to even be able to have one bird on my shoulder and another in my hands, or one on the back of the couch and another on me, but right now they just try to get to one another to do some damage. (Elisa doesn't try to get close to the others. She runs off, but the other two won't leave her alone.)

I hate having to relegate them to their cages while I play individually with them, but I can't play with any of them when they are out at the same time now because I'm always running interference.

They are still sweet toward me. They just won't stay on a playstand away from me.

I've been very stressed at work - really stressed. I suppose they could be picking up on this and therefore don't want to be far away? Probably I will never know what the deal is, but I hope they get back to their old ways of playing happily on their play stands, soon.

The one thing I CAN still do is put all three of them on a play stand and hold no one, but who wants to do that?
