ok some times no matter how much care we give our birds there is just some things we can,t prevent . one of my breeding pairs in october hatched a chick as time went on i started to worry at 8 weeks old this chick was not perching or flying it constantly sitting on the floor of the cage it is fully weaned and still cannot fly or perch so this little one will stay with me it is so tame she cuddles right up to me here is a pic of the darling

He's so handsome! I wonder what the problem is... he looks ok... that's very strange! Regardless, he sounds like a super sweet bird and I'm glad you're keeping him! Special needs birds are underrated... they can make amazing pets :lovehearts:

well i could not sell him/her knowing what is wrong with him/her would not be fair to the bird or the buyer and after all this time we have a strong bond

Awe sweet little thing. I breed fancy chickens and 2 years ago hatched a chick with what I equate as the bird version of down syndrome. Poor muscle tone, fluffed appearance, soooo sweet and happy. He also had a deformity in his neck. He was the sweetest little guy. He died at around 4 months old. Everyone who visited just loved him, but like you said, I could not give him to someone with his future being so uncertain. May your sweet special needs Tiel be a blessing to your home all the time he is with you. :)

I think its really nice of you to look after him. special needs animals are so often ignored, but they can make lovely pets. all they need is a little effort and TLC, to help them live normal life.

well he just loves to sit on your shoulder and on your chest i go near the cage he comes running to the front of the cage and he even eats right from your hand

Aww, thats so cute! :lovehearts: He sounds like he's bonding really well with you!

ok just to let you no there is no change in cuddles yes i named him cuddles he loves to sit on your shoulder when he can see me he rushes for the cage door another problem is he don,t climb the cage bars at all so if i wanted to wich i won,t i could leave the cage door open
