I have had this adorable little female Splendid Parakeet for 2 days and I still have not decided on a name for her. She is the most darling little thing. She had been housed with some bullyish English Parakeets at the bird store, and is molting so she's a bit rough at the moment. Just a doll though and friendly. The lady that runs the bird department wasn't there when I bought her so I don't have an age for her but I think shes about 3-4 mos.

Ok now on the naming thing... I like to name my birds after Muppet characters as I am a big Muppet fan. Currently we have a Sam (The Eagle), and Kermit. I have had a Mokey (Fraggle) in the past, as well as Beaker & Bunsen. Anyone have any ideas?

I am considering Skeeter and Zoot... I think I need to go watch a few episodes of Muppets/Fraggles and see if there is anything else.

Here is her pic!

Zoot is the name of one of my birds too! and of course from the same reference.

...Boober has always been my favorite fraggle, personally, and i am one of those people who thinks beeker is the best muppet...

good luck in the naming process, something will stick.
Zoot was named Ray Davies for a day, before the name zoot came to me, and my Wednesday was named Fido for a week before i figured out it wasn't meant to be her name.

i <3 skeeter, and i think she could pull it off. she looks like such a sweetie.

Alright.. She spoke a little tonight! I went through the entire Muppet character Wiki, and her name is Meep. Meep is the sound that Beaker makes when he speaks, and her sounds are cute like that. So Meep it is! :D
