Today, I had some new progress with Twitter, my Bourke Parakeet. After playing with her on the floor below her cage, she flew back in her cage when I got up. So I figured that was it - she'd stay in her cage as usual, once I start moving around.
But to my surprise, while I was watching TV, she flew over to the back of my chair - hung out for a while - and then landed on my head. So she is cautiously becoming more friendly, all by herself, at her own speed! Only people on these bird boards would understand how this baby-step was significant!!! Anyway, I'm thrilled with that and wanted to let folks know.
With another week of vacation ahead of me, who knows how far things may go? Though of course, Bourkes are cautious so maybe not too far. Luckilly, I'm patient!
