So since Cricket hasn't been biting and has been sweet so i put in one of those happy huts. I thought i would see if he liked it. Well he loves it but i was wondering if any of you had your conure doing this....
He squawks at me from his happy hut peeking out at me and we go thru this whole conversation back and forth, i will say peek a bird or what r u doing you crazy bird and he will talk back. This could go on for quite some time as he sticks his head out the front of the hut and bites on the side then backs back inside. It's the funniest thing:rofl: and I swear he thinks he is truely telling me something important! I wish i knew how to operate the video camera, it is hillarous. He also does this at his bed time. The other day i said "you better go to bed" and he ran to his happy hut and crawled in. I think they must be very smart or I have seen them described as clowns and that sooooo covers it! Any body else have a goof ball green cheek?
Also not one bit of poop in that happy hut, he backs out the end and poops then goes back in. He is one crazy bird!

I have had my GCC for one week now. She (I think I am going to name her Gracie, but it is not official yet) has conversations with me in the evening too. She sits in the back corner of her cage all fluffed up and responds to everything I say, it really sounds like she is having a conversation with me. It is so cute! I just put a happy hut in her cage a couple of days ago. She climbed in it right away. She has not spend a lot of time in it so far, and I am not sure if she is sleeping in it, but she keeps it clean and pops her head out to say "hi Mom, look at me" when ever she is in it. She likes to play with the toy that is hanging outside the entrance of the hut while she is in it. I brought her to work with me today to show her off. She is currently sitting on my shoulder, under my hair, happy as a clam! :) :lovehearts:

they are soooooo cute

I know, it is a true conversation. When i took him in the shower this morning he squawked like crazy. It could have been the scary, fat, pasty white body in there with him, but i choose to think he was just having fun. Stacie, i love the name Gracie!!!!! I was reading an artical on here about head and shoulders being bad if your bird sits on your head. Think i will toss the stuff with zinc in it.

I am so glad i listened to Joanne about the Green cheeks, they are a blast. And such silly little things. They certainly keep you entertained. Your bird is beautiful, what kind is it?

They ARE so much fun! I'm so happy you're having so much fun with Cricket!

Libby loves "tent play" too! I put my hand in her tent and say "I'm sleeping here! This is my tent!" and she jumps inside, rolls over on her back, and foot plays with my hand, making noises that I'm pretty sure are, "No, it's MY tent!". I start the game most of the time, but sometimes, she'll jump in there, roll over and look at me -- come and get me! SO CUTE!

I was in the kitchen tonight (she's in the family room, next to the t.v.). I turned around and saw her kind of flapping her wings and jumping around in her cage. I panicked a little, thinking maybe he foot was caught on something, so made a beline to her cage. She was fine, so I went back into the kitchen, and she started doing it again. It appears she was just flapping, jumping all over, and playing. My husband said, "Think Libby got some fermented fruit!" What a goofball!

I love her so much -- can't imagine my life without her!

My GCC Kiwi Bean LOVES her happy hut she sleeps in it every night. I put it in her cage and she wouldn't look at it and then one night I couldn't find her and I knew she was in her cage and she was sleeping in it.

It is just big enough for him. I think he will need something a little bigger eventually. My parrotlet was too territorial for him to have it, but Cricket is such a love bug he hops right out and onto my hand/
