I've decided to start a new thread, one that is not named, "Amra" after the dog I'm not getting.

Here is the last post I posted on the "Amra" thread, explaining what just happened:

"It was meant to be.
Australian Shepherd puppy, I'm going to kick myself if this doesn't work out.

Our house and yard is like the coolest place to be for kids (usually ages 8-13ish) in our neighborhood. Everybody hangs out around here (my little sister is 8, my little brother is 12) and brings all their friends, too. It just so happens that one of our neighbor's friends brought their Australian Shepherd puppy over to our yard while I was outside riding the dirt bike. I knew what kind of dog it was right away because I had just been looking at an ad for an Australian Shepherd puppy and I was doing some research on them. I rushed up to it and it was so sweet and adorable! I brought my mom outside and she fell in love. Immediately, she came inside and emailed the person who had the female Australian Shepherd puppy, asking them a few questions, and telling them that we would love to go see the dog on Saturday if they still had her.

I'm just amazed, it's like it was meant to be. I'm never outside and around those kids (considering how much younger they are and not to mention how annoying they can get) and it just so happens that some random friend of theirs was at one of their houses that day with their puppy that happens to be an Australian Shepherd.

I really hope this works out. If it doesn't, like I said, I'm going to kick myself. It's hard not getting my hopes up.

So I'll let you guys know when they respond to my mom's email.

WISH ME LUCK!! :biggrin5: "

The woman (or man) replied quickly and said yes, they still have the female. We are 'visiting' the female on Saturday, although I know that really means that we are buying her. My mom made me promise that I'd brush the dog often (to reduce shedding) and considering it's an hour and a half away, we probably won't be making that trip twice.

This happened sooner than I expected and I'm very pleased! In addition, I have a half day of school on Thursday, and I have Friday and Monday off. This will be a great weekend! Thank you guys for the support in the "Amra" thread, but this thread is for my new puppy and I'm looking forward to hear what you guys have to say!

Here are the pictures posted of my new puppy that we will be picking up on Saturday:

She's precious, right? :swoon:

Most definitely. I want to do as much as I can, but since my mom is a stay home mom, she'll probably end up doing a lot of the training. We might also do a class at Petsmart.

I'm deciding on a name for her! I like the names Kendall and Kasey, I think they fit her. I asked 45 people which name they thought fit her, and 28 (62%) said Kendall, and 17 (38%) said Kasey. Look at her picture, and tell me what you think! :) Kendall or Kasey?

Change of plans, we are picking her up today!
My parents said the only way we wouldn't get her is if she is skittish, or if we find we are not trusting the breeder, which so far, she has been giving us a good vibe.

Thanks, guys! We will be leaving in about an hour. Mom sadly does not like the name Kasey. But since we've got around 3 hours of driving time today, we'll have plenty of time to brainstorm. :D

Well, we left and took the hour and a half drive, we met up with the breeder at their house and got to meet their dogs. Peanut, as they called her, was absolutely adorable! She is an Australian Shepherd. She and her brother were the only two left of a litter of eleven, mainly because they did not have blue eyes like the rest of their siblings. We found we really trust these people, they are just a family who has a few litters a year, mainly out of the love they have for dogs, not because they want to make a ton of money.
We took Peanut, or Kendall, as we call her, home with us. The drive back wasn't bad. I was very happy, that is, until we were five minutes from home and she decided to throw up.
We got home, she was very nervous when we went inside. She would not go to the bathroom for hours. We took her out several times. (Beginning the potty training.) Actually, Samantha had an accident in the house before Kendall did.

Finally, she went.
She got along with Samantha great. They are absolutely the best of friends now. They are pretty much perfect for each other.

I'm SOO happy! Kendall is a sweetheart, I'm so happy to have her in my life now.
We've taken TONS of pictures and videos, I'll try posting some soon, but I'm still on an iPad and so I can't. (Laptop is broken.)
