Green Quaker or Sun Conure

What bird would you prefer? Also Explain why you like that certain bird over the other. I would like to hear your opinions.:yesnod:

I don't really know which I would choose. I really like conures for there are so many varieties but it depends on which species. I absolutely love hand raised quakers, my only issue with them was when I kept a breeding pair the noise was enough to pop my ear drums. I find conures easier on the ears. But as I said, there are so many different kinds of conures, so I wouldn't know which one I'd choose over who.

I would choose a conure because in some places quakers are illegal and if I got one and moved to a state were they are illegal I would have to re home it so I'd prefer a conure that way I wouldn't have the heart ache to rehome it.

I have only had a dusky conure and a green cheeked conure. I loved them both. They were/are incredible birds. I've played with quakers at the store, and they were just as sweet as babies, but I don't know how they are as adults.

I prefer a Green Cheek Conure, by far! I had a Quaker years and years ago, and the noise was too much for me! My Libby (a Pineapple GCC) is MUCH more quiet! Course I'm totally in love with her, so that helps! LOL!

See, I would take the Quaker :giggle: I like their spunk, antics, and attitude. I also love their little voices and they're very clever, endearing birds. They can be very cage territorial and loud, but I enjoy them. Besides, the blues are gorgeous!

I'm not a big conure fan, tho I do like the big conures. The smaller conures are cute but not a species I would own. I like the patagonians, blue crown, mitred, and golden conures. They're great birds, don't get me wrong ;) I just wouldn't own one personally

Probably conures, I don't know what it is about them, I have nothing against quakers at all... except the noise of course  I guess my bad experience with them put me off them a bit but I've handled tame babies and they're awesome! Most likely to have both if I end up living with Daisy  With conures there is a lot more variety obviously!

I wouldn't get a sun conure for my household, I wouldn't be able to tolerate their ear-piercing shrieks. Other conures I would read up about and consider. :)

Quakers... I love my quaker, his personality and spunk really fill this house. He is LOUD, though I doubt he has anything on a sun conure. The main problem is, as was mentioned, quakers are illegal in a lot of states.

I see shelters and rescues full of quakers. *sigh* I guess their terrible two stage (when they hit puberty and decide to try and take over and test you and bite your head off) scares a lot of people, like it scared me. I don't know. If I had my way, I'd run a quaker sanctuary or something. But one bird dictating where I can and can't live is enough, I wouldn't want to put myself through it with a second bird.

I never thought I'd leave NY, so the legal issue wouldn't affect me personally - I was wrong, and it keeps biting me in the bum.
