My first bird was a male Lutino cockatiel called Paulie. We then built him an aviary, got him a mate, got some budgies and it grew from there!

How did you start? And what was your first? Tell me a little bit about them :giggle:

My first bird was a cockatiel - she was given to me for my first Christmas ;D She was a standard pearl. She died when I was 9, we just found her on the bottom of the cage. Then we got Coco and Peekaboo, Moose's parents, and bred them. At one point we had about 15 tiels. From there, we moved on to cockatoos and it went on from there! Here's a pic of Snoopy!

My first bird was a budgie wet to a store asked for a light blue and hey gave me a darker blue but I liked him anyways then a few years later I got him a buddy only had his buddy a short time because he died from getting his head stuck in a rope toy string then a few weeks later I got him another budgie then a few years later my first one died then I had to get the other a buddy and it's new buddy died a few weeks later due to a heat attack all the birds I ever got came from the same store which is a horrible store then got him a new buddy named Piper(still have her) then the male died with six other due to being starved because I was away and asked my mom to feed them she never did and that's how they ended up dying the I had 12 at the time only 5 came out alive my five originals
Piper,Boney which was on the egde of starvating but pulled through,Cricket,****** and Chewy. All 5 originals are almost all 4 and 5 years old this happened in 2007.

It's a shame they all died :( I rehomed all of my old birds and I think Paulie is still alive but hey you never know.

How come all of your budgies kept dying? Were the only ones dying coming from that one place?

They all came from the same place this store gets 200 unweaned baby budgies every few weeks they all look sick half them cant even perch they tried breeding parrotlets themselves the chicks were so plucked I think they died there puppies are diseased
I once got a lovebrid their it died 4 days later my mom bought a puppy their it died a week later I've bought a cockatiel their ended up having gardia I had to treat him. I bought numerous budgies their none of them making to a year they have tropical fish which float dead In The tank this stores been introuble for numerous stuff like reptile abuse and puppies coming from puppymills but it's still open. That's why I buy my birds from petco petsmart and pets supplies plus there birds are well cared for.

Hmm I sometimes think like that but the problem is either way they die, so we don't really save them :(

Oh that's fair enough then. Were all the birds kept in one cage? Or too many in them? Diseases may have spread to the ones you bought that died. I hope your others are good though!

My first bird was a cobalt budgie named Rosco. We got him from Pet Supplies Plus when I was around ten years old. I knew a few other people who had cockatiels, and they told me how great their birds were, so I wanted to own one, too. I did some research and my parents took my to Pet Supplies Plus to buy him. He was so sweet and so beautiful.

Less than a year later, seeing as my parents wouldn't let me get anymore birds, I convinced my little brother that he should get one, so he asked my parents and they let him buy one. I "helped" him pick one out, and then I convinced him to put Lola in Rosco's cage. My brother gave up on caring for her and trying to buy Lola her own cage, so she pretty much became mine. Hehe. (That was evil. ;) )

The more research I did and the more time I spent with my birds, so more I began loving them. So it just shot on from there. :D
