Sometimes when I make a thread, and want to go back to edit it sometime later, it doesn't have the 'edit' option.

Like, if I've just posted something, and want to edit it, It'll let me, but if I want to edit something a couple of days after, it won't.

I was just wondering if thats normal or if I can change it so I can edit older posts.

Thanks!

by default the edit time is 1440 minutes, or one day. I dont know of Nick had changes this or not...but im sure he wouldn't mind.

Sumtimes people have it set this way incase theres sum really good info and a member gets a bug in their butt and goes and deletes it all...

The edit time limit is set to 10 days, meaning you can go back and edit your post within 10 days of it being originally posted. After that point, they are no longer editable.

This is somewhat of a security measure, because if a member gets upset with the community and wants to retaliate, they often do so by going back and deleting all of their posts. This would obviously disrupt the flow of conversation within the threads, so isn't something we want to occur.

If you'd like one of your posts edited, simply report it using the "report post" icon (
) found in the upper-right corner of each post, and specify what you'd like to be edited, and a moderator will gladly take care of it for you. :)

Nick,

Is this information in a sticky some place? Maybe so as I don't always read directions.
