TIL'd that male turkeys aka Tom's poop strange and in odd shapes compared to their lady turkey friends. I also learned they are very feathery with about 6000 feathers on their turkey body's. I also cannot imagine cleaning up the feathers from when it molts. What a mess that would be.

Unknown fact about wild turkeys .... they are insane and stupid during mating season and you can often find them fighting in the middle of the road with a rival who might be crossing their territory. Honking your car horn at 2 fighting toms does NOTHING, they will not move outta the way. They just keep right on fighting.

Getting outta the car and kicking the wild turkeys in the butt and yelling at them to get outta the road does NOTHING, they will not move outta the way. They just keep right on fighting.

Wild turkeys are dumb asses ....

In stranger other news .... I have never eaten wild turkey for any holiday or reason.

I grew up in a household of hunters who shot deer moose rabbits partridge and more each year besides constantly fishing. I ate a lot of wild life in my younger years but never a wild turkey. So I don't know what it tastes like in comparison to our domesticated farm raised boids.

There ya go ... !

I have not eaten wild turkey, either, but I would imagine that there would be a higher percentage of dark meat on this bird, due to their activity in the wild. Their slightly "gamey flavour" would go especially well with cranberries and a juicy gravy over stuffing and slices of their meat.

I found a recipe on the net, to oven-bake wild turkey, stuffed with apples. It sounded delicious. Roasted Wild Turkey
